Victor, the first to be married at Gwango

You can’t have been to Gwango and not met Victor!  Our very first employee, Victor has been part of our journey since day 1 (through thick and thin).  We all know Victor for his HUGE smile and infectious laughter.  And, if you’ve been on a village visit with us, you’ll also know that Victor’s mum, has become a sort-of adopted mother figure for me as well...

So – when Victor came to me with this “idea” that he wanted to have a court wedding (versus a traditional African ceremony), of course, the best gift we could offer him was the most spectacular wedding venue in Hwange... one which he helped to construct.

Victor is official the FIRST person to wed at Gwango Elephant Lodge.  Seeing the pride and tears of joy in him mama’s eyes made the entire event worthwhile.

Best of luck young man.  Danny and I wish you a lifetime of love, happiness and wedded bliss...
