Something new and exciting is happening at Gwango Heritage Resort. The upper-level dining and lounge area has been under construction for a while now and it is almost done! Even before it’s complete, you can already tell it will be one of those places guests will keep talking about long after they have left. Perched above the trees, it is where you can sit back, look out over the wilderness and feel like you are part of the landscape itself.

The Canopy will carry the same rustic warmth that Gwango is known for, balanced with a touch of contemporary design. The furniture, lighting and layout are being chosen to keep that close-to-nature feeling while making the space even more comfortable and open. It will maintain what guests have loved before, while creating something that’s fresh and elevated in every sense of the word.

From up there, you can see the bush in all its different moods. In the spring months, the trees burst into colour and the ground almost glows after the first rains from all the new growth. As the rains come, everything deepens into shades of green and you can clearly hear the showers hitting the leaves and rolling across the forest. Then the air cools, the leaves fade to gold, and by winter, the landscape opens up again…dry and clear, perfect for spotting wildlife as it moves through the now bare trees. Each season paints a new picture, and The Canopy will offer the best seat in the house to watch it all happen.

Whatever takes you up there, whether that’s a relaxed breakfast, a quiet afternoon with a book, or a warm family dinner as the night settles in. The Canopy at Gwango Heritage Resort will be a place to unwind and reconnect with the land, with others, or even with yourself.
