We have a little problem at Gwango. Well, perhaps not so little anymore... our parking area is struggling to keep up with us!
When Gwango first started, the parking area was enough for the vehicles coming through. It was a small space where guests and visitors could arrive and park, and things carried on without much thought about where the next vehicle would go. At the time, it worked just fine. But Gwango has grown. More guests are coming to stay, more people are visiting, and there is more happening across the property... all good problems to have. But as expected, growth does come with its own set of challenges, and we seem to have reached the point where even parking has become something we need to think seriously about!

We are looking at possible solutions, trying to work out how to make better use of the space we have and what changes might be possible. We are also trying to find a balance between making room for our growing number of visitors and respecting this place we call home. You might think this should be an easy task when you consider that we are surrounded by a vast teak forest, but it is not quite that simple. There is an important consideration in all of this. Gwango is in a protected area, and we share this home with the wildlife. Any plans we make have to take that into account.
It is a small but interesting reminder of how much things have changed at Gwango. We started with a space that served the needs of a much smaller operation. Today, we are having to rethink it as the place grows. We are happy to have more people coming through our gates, and we want to make sure that as Gwango grows, we continue to look after the place that makes it what it is.
So, for now, the parking lot remains a work in progress. We are thinking, planning and looking for a solution that works for our guests while respecting the environment we are fortunate enough to be part of.
