At the end of the rainbow

The rains have returned to Hwange and with them, a little bit of magic.

Earlier this week, after a light afternoon shower, a rainbow arched across the sky. And for a brief, perfect moment, it looked like Gwango Heritage Resort was sitting right at the end of it. We couldn’t help but pause. There it was: our home in the bush, touched by sunlight and gold, framed like a quiet promise.

Rain is always welcome here. Water is precious at Hwange, as anyone who’s followed our story knows. So when the sky offers it freely, we feel it deep in our bones. This rain brings relief to the land, to the trees, to the wildlife. To us. And seeing the rainbow arched over Gwango seemed like the universe was trying to say something. Something like: keep going…something beautiful is just around the bend. 

This image felt like more than just a coincidence. Maybe it’s a reminder of how nature still finds ways to delight us. That even in a place we know so well, there’s always something new waiting to shine through. Proof that nature will never give up all its secrets. And we will never stop looking, wondering, walking a little further, just so we can keep discovering them.
