Large crowds turn up for Gwango job interviews

Earlier this month, Gwango announced that we were seeking candidates for various jobs. Positions will be based at Gwango Elephant Lodge and the nearby Gwango Heritage Center.  We posted the announcement at several growth points (business centers) near Gwango.  We also shared the announcement on Whatsapp and on our Facebook page in hopes of reaching more candidates. 

Interviews were scheduled to occur between 10am and 2pm on April 26th.  Our expectation was that we would meet a few dozen candidates.  Imagine our surprise when we arrived and found a large crowd had already gathered for the interviews, we interviewed 249 eager candidates that day.

Dampa Secondary school in Dete, provided us with one classroom to be used as an interview room and a second classroom, which would serve as a waiting room -- however, the crowds were so large that thirty minutes into our interviews, lines of applicants were spilling out of the waiting room and winding around two classroom blocks.  Needless to say, interviews lasted until well into the evening hours and we found some really great new team members!  We can’t wait to introduce them to you.
