A resident family of ground hornbills has chosen to make Gwango their home!
Most days, we awaken to the soothing call of ground hornbills. An instrumental melody signaling the start of a new day in the wild. It's a regular occurrence here!
Ground hornbills are endangered birds with a very slow breeding rate, producing one brood of 2 chicks every nine years this means that seeing a baby is very rare. It's a very special month for us as we have spotted a newly hatched member of the resident flock of ground hornbills during a recent drive on the Gwango estate.
